Manchester City vs Arsenal FA Cup Predictions – News, Odds & Stats

Manchester City vs Arsenal: It’s time for the fourth round of the FA Cup, so I have brought you my Manchester City vs Arsenal FA Cup predictions. By far the most interesting fixture of the round, 1st and 2nd in the Premier League will battle for a place into the fifth round. Whoever wins this tie will be the easy favourite to lift the FA Cup at the end of the season.

Man City look to have got their groove back with a thumping 3-0 over Wolves at the weekend. And, even better, star striker Haaland netted a hattrick. Arsenal are also flying high, defeating rivals, Manchester United 3-2 with a last minute winner from striker Nketiah.

No doubt about it, strategy will play an important role in this FA Cup fourth round match. As both sides are possession based sides, we may see Arsenal tweak their tactics. With Saka and Martinelli on both wings, and the top class passing of Odegaard, Arsenal will hope to hit City on the break.

In a match fit for a final, this Guardiola v Arteta crunch fixture should bring plenty of goals, drama and excitement. These two play each other again in the Premier League in a couple of weeks, so this FA Cup match will serve as a taster of what’s to come.

Key Takeaways

  • In my Manchester City vs Arsenal predictions, I expect plenty of goals
  •  Arsenal are top of the Premier League 5 points ahead of City
  •  Guardiola V Arteta head to head: Pep 5 wins, Artea 1 win
  •  Winner of the fixture will become favourite to lift the FA Cup
  •  If the match ends a draw, it will result in a replay at the Emirates

Team News

Here at BetYep, we bring you the latest team news, so you’re informed when making your  Manchester City vs Arsenal betting predictions. Pep Guardiola has a nearly fully fit squad to choose from, for the clash on Friday evening.

The only notable absence is still Ruben Diaz, who is suffering with a thigh problem. Foden, might also be an injury scare, after Pep stated he’s touch and go for Friday. He is currently receiving treatment for a foot injury sustained against Wolves at the weekend.

City’s star striker Haaland put an end to his mini goal drought with a hattrick in his last Premier League fixture. And after top performances by De Bruyne, Mahrez and Grealish,  we have a rough idea of who Man City’s front four will be.

Arsenal have no new injuries or suspensions in the upcoming Man City vs Arsenal FA Cup match on Friday night. The same players missing for the United match, Jesus, Elneny and Nelson are still on the sidelines, and it will be a surprise if he changes the first XI that defeated the Red Devils.

New signing Kiwior, transferred from Spezia for £20m, will also be available for selection. It will be a shock if he makes his debut, especially with Arsenal’s centre back pairing, Saliba and Gabriel in top form.

The Stats

The last time Man City and Arsenal faced off in any competition was in January 2022, when City won the match 2-1 in the Premier League. However, judging Arsenal this time around on previous fixtures between the two would not be fair. The Gunners are certainly a different animal this year.

The Gunners have had to trust the process with Arteta, as the head to head record with Guardiola looks pretty grim. The two have played each other 6 times since Arteta left Man City to take the reins at Arsenal. It has resulted in 5 wins for Guardiola with just one win for Arteta.

In the past five fixtures between Man City and Arsenal, Man City have won all five, with the highlight on 28th August 2021, when Pep’s side demolished the Gunners 5-0. Yet, the last time the Cityzens and Arsenal met in the FA Cup, a semi final in July 2020, Arsenal won 2-0.

The top goalscorers in the fixture between Man City and Arsenal in the past five matches are Mahrez and Nketiah, who have both scored twice. Then again, Haaland has not played Arsenal yet, and is on high flying form going into the match.

Manchester City Vs Arsenal – Fourth Round FA Cup Betting Prediction

For my Manchester City vs Arsenal predictions, form and stats are not as important as they would be if this is a league match. Everyone knows, in the cup, form goes out the window. However, one thing for certain is that both teams are currently scoring plenty of goals, and Haaland and Nketiah are on fire.

Yet, sound bankroll management in this FA Cup fourth round fixture will be vital. Rather than big infrequent bets, small frequent ones will be beneficial because of the unpredictability of the cup.

Both sides will have had plenty of rest, so expect a high energy quick start to the match. In my Manchester City vs Arsenal FA Cup prediction I expect Man City to score the first goal. The first 15 minutes is a bit of an ask for City to lead, so I like the 30 mins betting with Ladbrokes at 19/10.

As previously mentioned, I expect plenty of goals and both teams to score. So, with Coral, I am backing both teams to score (BTTS) at 3/5 which will be my largest wager of the evening.

First goalscorer markets are notoriously difficult to predict. But backing Haaland is a different scenario. So, backing the Norwegian to score the first goal at William Hill with the odds 2/1 is a decent bet. For Arsenal, Nketiah should also get on the scoresheet, but I am going for the less risky anytime scorer bet at 4/1.

That’s a wrap! I’ve done all the research on this fixture to help you, the punters, make more informed bets.
