Bournemouth vs Liverpool: Prediction and Preview

The first game of the weekend is Bournemouth vs Liverpool at 12:30 GMT on Saturday. Both teams were involved in dramatic fixtures in gameweek 26, with Bournemouth losing 3-2 to Arsenal, and Liverpool thrashing Man United 7-0.

Both teams need a win. The Cherries sit 19th in the table, and three points will elevate them outside of the relegation zone. On the other hand, Liverpool need the points to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Overall, in my Bournemouth vs Liverpool betting tips, I’m expecting plenty of goals and an all around entertaining fixture.

Key Takeaways

  • The reverse Bournemouth vs Liverpool fixture ended in a 9-0 win for The Reds
  •  Liverpool have kept a clean sheet in their last four EPL matches
  •  Bournemouth have 1 draw, 1 win, and 3 losses in their past 5 games
  •  In the past 5 games, Liverpool have won 4 and drawn once
  • According to Opta, Liverpool have a 67.2% chance of winning

Bournemouth vs Liverpool 11th of March News

Liverpool have no new injury news to speak of after their triumphant 7-0 win over United at the weekend. Midfielder Thiago Alcantara is still out on the sidelines with a hip injury. However, the good news is that Luis Diaz is recovering, and it’s been rumoured that he may return to the squad on Saturday

All eyes will be on Liverpool’s attacking line of Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez. All three scored twice in their 7-0 win, and all are brimming with confidence. Moreover, Mo Salah has just become Liverpool’s all time leading Premier League goal scorer with 129, when he scored his second against United.

Bournemouth have a few key players out on the sidelines. Marcus Tavernier is still injured with a thigh injury and Matias Vina Susperreguy is still out with a knee problem.

The Cherries will have to pick themselves up from the last minute winner by Arsenal on Saturday. However, they can take some positives from the match, having scored twice with goals from Phillip Billing and Marco Senesi.

The Stats

In the reverse EPL fixture at Anfield on August 27th 2022 it ended in a 9-0 win for The Reds. After the match, Bournemouth’s manager, Scott Parker was sacked and replaced with their current one, Gary O’Neil.

 Bournemouth Stats and Form

Since the World Cup, Bournemouth have taken just five points from 10 games (W1 D2 L7). Their recent form has been poor, but they have played top quality opponents. They took a point against Newcastle on February 11th, and beat Wolves 1-0 on February 18th.

However, they have lost their last two games, 4-1 to Man CIty on February 25th, and 3-2 to Arsenal on Saturday, thanks to Reiss Nelson’s last minute winner.
In Bournemouth Vs Liverpool head to head in the past 5 matches, The Cherries have lost their last 7 games to Liverpool. Their most recent win against The Reds came in 2016 when they won 4-3.

Liverpool Stats, Form, Key Players

Bournemouth vs Liverpool predictions and odds favour The Reds for obvious reasons. Their front three are starting to click, and each one will be a goal threat to The Cherries.

Liverpool are in the best form they have been all season, winning 4 out of their last 5 league matches. Defensively, things have shored up, keeping a clean sheet in their last 4 matches.

The last time Liverpool met Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium was in 2019, when they won the match comfortably 3-0. Mo Salah, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain all got on the scoresheet.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool Premier League Prediction

After taking into consideration recent form and stats, it’s time for my Bournemouth Vs Liverpool predictions. First things first, I only see Liverpool winning this match, with anything else being a major surprise.

I’m backing handicap markets in this fixture, betting on Liverpool -2 at Ladbrokes. It’s priced at 29/10 and is a decent bet, considering Liverpool’s front three are on a massive high.

There will be many goals in this match too, so I am betting on the goals market at BETUK. The Bournemouth Vs Liverpool odds of over 3.5 is 6/4, or if you fancy a bigger risk, over 4.5 is 7/2.

Expect the game to start fast, with Liverpool coming out of the blocks quickly. A special bet market at Coral is “Time of First Away Goal”. I like 1-10 mins and 11-20 mins which are both fairly priced 5/1.

There you have it, these are my Bournemouth vs Liverpool 11th of March predictions. What do you think? Will Liverpool build on their 7-0 thrashing of United? Or will consistency come back to haunt them?
